While the Grand Avenue Bridge in New Haven, a historic turnstile bridge spanning the Quinnipiac River, was undergoing renovation, I captured compelling footage using a drone. This effort was part of a visual documentation project to highlight the bridge’s unique engineering and the intricate work involved in its restoration. The footage includes dynamic fly-throughs and aerial perspectives, offering a rare glimpse into the bridge’s structural features and its transformation during the renovation process. To ensure safety throughout the project, I adhered strictly to drone operation protocols. This included coordinating with construction crews, avoiding restricted areas, maintaining a safe distance from equipment and workers, and flying only during approved times. By following these precautions, I prioritized safety while creating a detailed and respectful visual record of this significant infrastructure project.
