As a Senior Video Producer at WSP, one of my key responsibilities involved producing livestream broadcasts for various groups within the organization. While many of these events were smaller-scale engagements tailored to specific disciplines, such as Project Controls or Transportation, larger opportunities occasionally arose. One such notable event was the year-end webcast, where I was tasked with traveling to San Diego to film WSP's executive leadership, including President and CEO Lou Cornell, Chief Human Resources Officer Debbie Arendsen, Chief Development Officer Rebecca Nolan, and Chief Finance Officer Andrew Esposito.
Approximately 8,000 of WSP’s 15,000 U.S.-based employees participated in this live event, underscoring its significance within the organization.
For the production, I utilized a two-camera setup, featuring a Blackmagic Studio Camera and a Sony A7S III DSLR, along with an ATEM video switcher, lapel microphones, and a streamlined lighting setup. OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) was employed to manage the audio and video feeds, which were seamlessly integrated into Microsoft Teams for the livestream.
