Factory Art
Before American companies began selling all its jobs overseas, we had an industry known as manufacturing.

There were places known as factories, which proliferated in the outskirts of urban areas, were goods were processed from raw materials.

more But these factories have been abandoned, and now have become wall spaces for graffiti artists in America, where graffiti is frowned upon by society as a whole. Factories are the modern underground art galleries, where large colorful murals adorn hallways and walls.

The only competition in this environment is the artistic peeling and decay of the factory itself. Broken glass and torn-apart flooring is systematic of the abandoned factory.

There are several old factories in new haven which have been used for this purpose. This is similar to the use of harbor boatyards and hangars in the Bay Area, seen in the May '06 episode of TownofNewhaven.Org
