Howard Zinn, the internationally acclaimed author of the best-selling book, "A People's History of the United States," kicked off his book tour on May 1 in New Haven. He spoke to an audience of several hundred people, and discussed history from the perspective of the working class citizen, which has been a theme in his literature since the beginning. He explained the depth to which class struggle has existed: over centuries and across continents. His presence in New Haven was in honor of MayDay, the national day for workers' rights. |
