Fired Up.
A bunch of maintenence workers for 157 Church Street rallied on Thursday, July 13, in regards to their poor wages. A flyer they were handing out asserted the following:
"The contractor who cleans your building, pays it workers in Hartford and Fairfiled good wages and benefits. In New Haven, SMG pay its workers as little as $7.40 with little or no benefits."
Working For Poverty
That would put the average worker in at about $15,000 a year, which is just about equal to the poverty level, provided that the worker did fulltime work every single week the entire year.
